  • Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Rösler “Sappho and Alcaeus” (forthcoming) in The Cambridge Companion to Sappho, edited by Patrick Finglass and Adrian Kelly for Cambridge University Press
  • Prof. Benedikt Kranemann ‘The notion of tradition in liturgy’ (2015) in History and Religion. Narrating a Religious Past, edited by Bernd-Christian Otto, Susanne Rau, Jörg Rüpke for De Gruyter (pp.333-54)
  • Prof. Ulrich Schmitzer ‘Roman Values in Velleius’ (2011) in Velleius Paterculus: Making History, edited by Dr. Eleanor Cowan for Classical Press of Wales (pp. 177-202)

It was a pleasure to work with Dr Luddecke on the publication of Professor Schmitzer’s contribution to the Velleius volume (Velleius Paterculus. Making History CPW, 2011). Dr Luddecke’s translations were meticulous, her attention to the nuances of language – both that of the individual scholar and the discipline – were admirable. Her work was always carefully prepared. It read well and was delivered promptly. I would recommend her as a translator.” Dr Eleanor Cowan

Prof. Dr. Michael Zahrnt

  • Stefan Heid ‘The Romanness of Roman Christianity’ (2007) in A Companion to Roman Religion, edited by Prof. Dr. Jörg Rüpke for Blackwell Publishing (pp.406-426)

The translation from the German into English is very, very good, I improved less than a dozen of minor details. The translator is to be recommended for further projects!!” Prof. Dr. Jörg Rüpke

Dr Kathrin Lüddecke has acted as a German to English translator for Blackwell Publishing in 2005 and 2006. She has translated substantial chapters for volumes in the Companions to the Ancient World Series. On each occasion she has completed the translation work within the agreed deadline, and has produced a clear translation of high standard.

I would have no hesitation in either employing Dr Lüddecke again as a translator, or in recommending her to other publishers.” Dr Sophie Gibson, Associate Commissioning Editor, Classical Studies
